AGNIESZKA TOMASZEWSKA -soprano. She is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, the University of Music in Vienna, and the Opera Studio at Hamburgische Staatsoper. She is a laureate of many international competitions (e.g. the Moniuszko Competition in Warsaw, the Ada Sari Vocal Artistry Competition in Nowy Sącz, Internationale Sommerakademie der Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg). She sang various opera parts at the National Opera – Grand Theatre in Warsaw, e.g. the parts of: Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro, stage direction: Keith Warner), Liu (Turandot, stage direction: Mariusz Treliński), Katya (The Passenger, stage direction: David Pauntney). She made her stage debut at the Stuttgart Opera with the part of Mimi (La Boheme). When singing at Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe she created such roles as: the Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Micaela (Carmen), Mimi (La Boheme), Antonia (The Tales of Hoffmann), Berthe (Le prophète - Meyerbeer).
The artist pursues an active concert career in Poland and abroad. She took part in various international festivals (e.g. Salzburger Festspiele, Die Hamburger Ostertöne, Hamburger Mozartwochen, Polish Music Festival in Kraków). Her repertoire includes numerous oratorios, ranging from the Baroque to modern times. On her tournée in Isreal with Zubin Mehta’s Israel Philharmonic Orchestra she performed the Mass in B minor by J.S. Bach. Alongside Peter Schreier, with whom she appeared on numerous other occasions, and the Kremerata Baltica ensemble she performed St. John’s Passion by J. S Bach. She participated in the first performances of the oratorios written by an Oscar-awarded composer Jan A.P. Kaczmarek. Together with such artists as Leszek Możdżer she performed at the Royce Hall in Hollywood at the concert devoted to the composer’s film music.
Agnieszka Tomaszewska participated in CD/DVD recordings of e.g. the Christmas Oratorio by J.S. Bach, Stabat Mater by Luigi Boccherini, the Great Mass in C minor by W.A. Mozart, the Gdańsk Oratorio by Marek Kuczyński, the Lottery for Husbands by Karol Szymanowski (DVD, world’s first performance), or Śpiewam dzieciom lullabies. She also made recording for the radio and television (TVP, ORF, ARD).
